iPhone 3G

The iPhone 3G was released on June 9th 2008 in San Francisco. It came in black and white. The dimensions of the 3G were slightly larger than its predecessor.

On the first weekend of sales the iPhone 3G was sold over 1 million times, this may be due to the fact that it was $300 cheaper than the orignal iPhone was when it was released. This iPhone had a GPS, new hardware features and most noticeably the ability to use 3G data. This was the first iPhone introduced with the App Store, which allowed 3rd party applications to be downloaded. Apple also claimed that it has 300 hours of standby time compared to 250 on the original.
